There are writers who are defined by their sense of self, and then there are those who define themselves by what they write. Our Digital Editor, Meg Marzella, a junior writing major with a journalism minor, is a blend of both these personas. Originally interested in psychology, Meg found herself supported in her love for writing and research and began her journey as a writer. Though self-described as the “least artistic person ever”, Meg’s creative touch is evident in all that she does. Not only does her brilliant personality shine through, but her voice is also signature within her writing. She is distinct, wonderful, and witty, and any artist should count themselves lucky to work with her.

Despite her inclination for self-reflection and quiet attention to her context in the world, Meg adores opportunities to let her social charm radiate. Her family and loved ones come first, her exploration into her own spirit comes second. She finds value in all around her, which you know from the moment you meet her—her warm presence makes you immediately feel welcomed into the conversation.

Meg is a creative nonfiction writer, primarily, and one that deserves a place in your personal library. You can find Meg’s work in Oakland Arts Review and Fleas on the Dog.
