The deadline for submitting student work to Stillwater Magazine’s 59th print issue is Friday, February 14th, 2020 at 8 p.m. Submissions will be considered only for print. All work must be emailed to stillwatermagazine@gmail.com.

Works must be a creation by students at Ithaca College.

Works must be previously unpublished.

Stillwater Magazine does accept simultaneous submissions. If work is accepted for publication elsewhere, please notify stillwatermagazine@gmail.com to withdraw submissions.

Please include last name and genre in the email subject header (ex: "Updike / Fiction") and your preferred means of contact in the email body.

The artist’s name must be excluded from the document itself. Files should be labeled Genre_FirstWordOfTitle (ex: "Fiction_Wild")

See below for genre-specific guidelines:

  • Fiction and Nonfiction submissions must be limited to 3,000 words and submitted in .docx format.

  • Poetry submissions should contain a maximum of 3 poems and submitted in .docx format. Each poem should be in a separate .docx file.

  • Still visual submissions (photography, illustrations, paintings, costume designs, etc) are limited to up to 5 images per artist, and must be in JPEG format.

  • Moving image (video essays, documentaries, animations, dances) must be uploaded as unlisted or private links through YouTube or Vimeo. Please submit these links with passwords, if required, in .docx format. There is no time restriction, however, only one moving image piece may be submitted per artist.

Submissions will be reviewed and artists will be notified after the February 14th deadline. We look forward to reviewing your submissions and seeing the wide range of art produced across Ithaca College’s campus.
