Jose Polanco is one of the Poetry Editors for Stillwater Magazine. They’re a freshman majoring in Psychology and still deciding what their minor should be. They’re from the most diverse city in the country, New York City, more specifically from the borough of Queens. To them, writing is a way to express how they feel when they can’t express themselves through verbal communication. They moved here in July 2015 without a lot of knowledge of the English language, but continuously grasped the concept and still does ‘till this day. Their favorite band is BROCKHAMPTON for the way the express themselves and their demons in their music. They have written a short amount of short stories with mostly depressive endings. Lastly, they are a person that identifies themselves as Gender Non-Binary and therefore uses the pronouns They/Them/Their.
